Welcome! Though this work will bring you mental, spiritual, and physical health and well being, the most important aspect is the building of community. We're creating a Circle of Trees who stand tall and strong and support one another in ways that many women were taught was impossible. And though we tend to focus on #Treesters, know that #BrotherTrees are more than welcome!
If you're new to my classes, you'll get location information after you register, but I'm near the Whole Foods Cooperative for a general reference.
Classes are nonrefundable and nontransferable (unless you're gifting someone, of course).
There are limited spaces due to the size of my studio so please register as soon as is possible.
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to miss a class, there is usually room in one of the others during the week for a makeup. Just ask!

Vidhi Yoga is community ritual energy yoga that focuses on the chakra/glandular systems to create vibrancy, relaxation, and overall happy (along with flexibility and strength that originates in the spine and core). I've developed this yoga after 25 years of practice and study and it's constantly evolving.
I add lots of special sauce and sprinkles that come from my background/interest in (and this list is never exhaustive as I am always learning more that I then bring to my students):
A variety of yoga lineages, including Kundalini, Kripalu, Vinyasa, and Iyengar, partner movement, meridian based medicine, Japanese butoh, modern dance, body weight work, biomechanics, guided visualizations, movement prompts for brain health, chant, meditation, and again, whatever is floating my boat at the moment.
With Vidhi Yoga’s focus on breath, there’s no way to leave a class without feeling completely renewed.
You’ll also get a taste of, well, pretty much every world religion/system of philosophy, shared ritual, and community building.
SIDE NOTE: Vidhi is the sanskrit word for ritual but it's also related to a form of early Tantric yoga that eventually became Kundalini yoga. I love this connection and lineage.

Music. Exploration. Fascination. Joy. Ritual. Dance. Laughter. Curiosity.
All connected by breath and attention.
All within the context of community because we don’t heal or become whole in isolation.
In BodyPoetics, I’ve developed a 3 layer approach to the bodymind, and in every class, we take care of each layer.
The skeletal muscular body: Above all we take care of this physical body, respecting where it’s at right now and never expecting it to be something it’s not. Each body is beautiful; each body is perfect; AND each body can stand some challenge that will inevitably lead to improvement.
The emotional body: By diving deeply into our felt experience, we can express in movement that which can’t be expressed with words. We can release; we can transform; we can evolve. We are stronger than we ever imagined.
The imaginative body: This is where the magic can really happen. This dreaming body, this creative body intuitively knows our biggest best selves and the kind of life that we’re truly capable of having. By exploring ourselves on this level and giving a voice to this part of our subconscious through dance, we can bring that power and agency into the external world, for our betterment and the betterment of everyone with whom we come in contact.
Strength and flexibility in the body is strength and flexibility in life.

For yoga to truly be effective, the more times you practice a week, the better, and though home practice is excellent, it can be difficult for some people to create. Furthermore, I find there to be so many benefits to practicing with others. Because Vidhi Yoga is truly ritual yoga and a yoga of community building, I realized people need more opportunities to do this every week. I hope you can take advantage!

So many little girls were told they weren’t built right or they didn’t “have what it takes” to pursue their ballerina dreams on the most basic level, and so many women walk around carrying this dance wound.
Are you one of them?
We can heal the little girl and all dance wounds even now.
I was one of those little girls who thought she was too short and too “muscle-y” to study ballet. Only as I have evolved into my true dancer self and teacher in my 40s have I come to realize how wrong I was and how very wrong so many dancer teachers were/are.

And with decades of study in yoga and somatics and biomechanics, I’ve come to develop a class in ballet that combines it with yoga and breath and mindfulness plus some other magicks.
ANYONE who has ever dreamed of being the black swan, can and SHOULD take this class.
Bring your dreams and your bare feet (or ballet slippers if you prefer, though they are not necessary).

Another extraordinarily unique dance class, conducted by yet another extraordinary Erie artist. <3 #DanceEveryFreakingDay <3
